NEW MOON REPORT

New Moons are opportunities for initiation, for beginning important projects. With this New Moon in Pisces, the accent is on anything involving the creative imagination, visualization skills, aesthetics, imagery, compassion, healing, or transcendence. The quest for infinite love and beauty or altered states of consciousness is emphasized.

New Moon at 4 Pisces 47, Friday, February 23 at 00:22 (12:22 AM) PST.
Otherworldly motifs are present with Pisces. You may take action to make the world a little more beautiful or more ideal (closer to utopian visions). You may express artistically, or through an ability to envision what could be. Think about ways to convert "what if?" into "what is" in your life. Compassion and tenderness could reach new heights. Empathy and intuition may heighten. This New Moon of opportunity for new beginnings is particularly potent for people born around February 22-27; May 23-29; August 26-31; or November 26-30.

Mercury Direct, Sunday, February 25 at 7:42 AM PST.
Now that Mercury is direct, it is appropriate to be more active and forthright in terms of communication, commerce, transportation, and all matters having to do with the intellect. Learning and curiosity may increase. Flexibility and multi-tasking could come more easily. An enthusiasm for information is likely.

Venus Retrograde, Thursday, March 8 at 5:08 PM PST.
With the planet of love (and money, resources and pleasures) retrograde, caution is advisable in regard to romance and major purchases. Most people would advise against making any significant financial or relationship decisions until after Venus is direct on April 19th. (Unfortunately, the American IRS will not accept that as an excuse to avoid mailing in your income taxes!)

With Full Moons, we are usually focused on some kind of balancing act in our lives, looking for the happy medium between two extremes. These polarity issues most commonly play out in relationships. Here, the focus is on bringing together the ideal and the real. This is excellent for any kind of artist or craftsperson or a healer and helper. The high side in relationships is using divine forgiveness (Pisces) to see and appreciate the best in our loved ones and overlook minor foibles, but to use practicality, common sense and effort (Virgo) to improve what needs some work. The down side is falling into perfectionism, procrastination or perpetual analysis or dreaming. This is an opportunity to bring a bit of inspiration into our everyday lives, to lift ourselves from the mundane into the transcendent realms. This Full Moon is extra significant for people born around September 10-15; December 10-14; March 9-13; or June 8-13.

Mercury enters Pisces, Friday, March 16 at 10:06 PM PST.
Your thinking and communication could become more poetic. Metaphors, similes, beautiful language and graceful speech are all possible. You may think more globally-with pictures. Information tends to come in as an overload or amorphous mass, and can be confusing unless you keep clear priorities and have good filing systems (physically and mentally). We are more susceptible to lies and deception (from self as well as others) because we want to think that "Everything is beautiful…" Aesthetic activities are favored, along with pursuits that blend the left and right brain or logic and intuition.

The planet of uncovering and elimination begins a new cycle. So, it is time to end one phase and begin another in matters relating to joint resources, sexuality, intense emotions, self-mastery, conquering addictions, compulsive behavior, and transforming negatives into positives. This next cycle will last until August 23 (when Pluto turns direct).

Courage, integrity, and forthright behavior are in focus. Self-reliance and independence are favored. This is a time to break new ground, to venture forth and assert yourself. The time is ripe to strengthen your skills and pursue your personal desires. The "me" focus is stronger than it will ever be for another year.
