NEW MOON REPORT
September 17, 2001
by Maritha Pottenger

The New Moon in hardworking, dedicated Virgo emphasizes efficient functioning-either in work, or in one's body, or both. Projects that highlight productive accomplishments, new and better health habits, or any kind of improvement are favored.

New Moon at 24 Virgo 38, Monday, September 17 at 3:28 AM PDT.
New beginnings are well planned for New Moons. Take the initiative in regard to enhancing your physical well being or fixing anything and everything. Flaw-finding skills and analytical abilities can be put to good use. Virgo's mantra: "Proper planning prevents poor performance" can be applied to many different settings to lead to success. You will work hard, but can garner rewarding fruits from your labors. This New Moon is particularly significant for people born around September 16-20, December 15-19, March 14-28, or June 13-18.

Jupiter quincunxes Pluto, Wednesday, September 19 at 4:24 PM PDT.
Polarities are accented: optimism versus pessimism and breadth versus depth. A happy medium will be best. Jupiter can overextend or take foolish chances, so be cautious particularly where secrets, scandals, and other people's money and resources are concerned. A bounce in the Market may be short-lived.

Venus enters Virgo, Thursday, September 20 at 7:10 PM PDT.
Dedication is the watchword in terms of love and money. People can be more practical about relationships and are willing to put in effort in order to improve matters. The extreme is feeling that love is laborious! On a positive level, people may put more focus on earning power and solid accomplishments.

Sun enters Libra, Saturday, September 22 at 4:06 PM PDT.
The challenge is to shine within the context of a one-on-one relationship. This is excellent for people who are each other's best fans and cheerleaders. Less constructively, competitive instincts could be triggered, or too much concern for being liked and admired by others is possible. Aesthetic talents are enhanced.

Saturn turns retrograde, Wednesday, September 26 at 5:05 PM PDT.
A new cycle could begin in regard to career, status, power, family members, or dealing with authority figures or your community. It is likely to last until February 7, 2002-when Saturn turns direct.

Mercury turns retrograde, Monday, October 1 at 12:24 PM PDT.
The yellow light (caution) is on in regard to communication, commerce, and paperwork. Double-check details, directions, appointments, etc. Read the fine print. Some people will put off signing anything important until October 22, when Mercury turns direct again. An excellent time for reviews, revision, re-evaluation or just about any repeats.

Full Moon at 9 Aries 26, Tuesday, October 2 at 6:50 AM PDT.
Relationships are emphasized, particularly the dance between self and other. Now is the time to make sure there is an equitable exchange in your closest associations. Freedom needs may vie with the urge for emotional attachment. What you want could compete with what a partner wants. Finding the golden mean is the goal. A healthy give-and-take will bring much pleasure to each of you. This Full Moon is extra significant for people born around March 28-April 2, June 29-July 4, October 1-5, or December 30-January 3.

Jupiter semi-sextile Saturn, Tuesday, October 10 at 12:04 AM PDT.
Ground your dreams. Mild harmony between the planet of aspirations and the planet of perspiration (and hard work) is a good time to make your visions manifest. You can have the big picture and the pragmatism to make things happen. A good balance is likely between optimism and pessimism.

North Node enters Gemini, Friday, October 12 at 6:50 PM PDT.
Restlessness is on the rise, as the Nodes enter the student/teacher/traveler polarity. Time on the road may increase, or you might be drawn to take (or lead) a class or seminar. The need for mental stimulation is strong. Variety appeals, and diverse interests could pull in many different directions.

Venus enters Libra, Monday, October 15 at 4:43 AM PDT.
Grace, elegance, loveliness and good taste are in high focus. Love, pleasure, and beauty are emphasized. Of course, if we overdo, it can lead to style over substance, vacillation, or laziness. Generally, the potentials are excellent for pleasing relationships, aesthetically appealing choices, and a charming demeanor and appearance.
