NEW MOON REPORT
April 12, 2002
by Maritha Pottenger
NEW MOON IN ARIES
The New Moon in Aries this month will conjunct Mercury shortly
afterward, emphasizing initiation and new directions in thinking and communication. Pioneering activity related to
media would be appropriate. Direct, forthright speech is apt to be favored. Starting a new chapter in terms of
commerce, teaching, or training is possible.
New Moon at 22 Aries 42, Friday, April 12, 2002 at 12:22 PM PDT.
Aries New Moons are particularly potent, as Aries is the first sign, so taking the lead in any number of
ventures is a good idea. This New Moon includes Mercury as well, so initiating in projects involving commerce,
communication, or concepts is favored. The New Moon is particularly significant for people born around April
11-16, July 13-18, October 14-19, or January 11-16.
Mercury enters Taurus, Saturday, April 13, 2002 at 3:12 AM PDT.
The planet of communication enters the sign of money, pleasure, and indulgence. Discussions may center around
finances, or people find themselves contemplating various purchases that would enhance beauty, comfort, or
stability in their lives. More patience is available, and people persist with ideas (not giving up). On the down
side: stubborn thinking. On the up side: steadfast logic, and objective reasoning about resources.
Mars enters Gemini, Saturday, April 13, 2002 at 10:37 AM PDT.
Quick wits and a quick tongue are likely. Comedic impulses become stronger-including the possibility of biting
humor. If you are inclined toward sarcasm, irony, or using words as weapons, your skills will be sharper now.
People can react more quickly and may be good with their hands.
Sun enters Taurus, Friday, April 19, 2002 at 11:22 PM PDT.
The arena in which to shine centers around pleasure, beauty, and material comfort. People may take pride in
their money-making skills, their easygoing nature, or ability to help others to relax and feel good. An indulgent,
sensual motif is in focus. "If it feels good, do it" is the motto.
Venus enters Gemini, Thursday, April 25, 2002 at 10:58 AM PDT.
The planet of love enters the sign of communication and lighthearted laughter. This can be excellent for quick
love notes, flirtation, or romance with a sense of humor. If carried too far, a flighty approach to relationships
is possible. ("If I'm not near the one I love, I love the one I'm near.") Money can be made (and spent)
on items involving learning, information, and communication. People with poetic inclinations will be even more
inspired; beautiful, graceful language is a definite option.
Full Moon at 6 Scorpio 41, Friday, April 26, 2002 at 8:01 PM
PDT.
The light and the dark side face off in relationships. People will feel torn between covering everything up
with a "nice" Venusian face (to stay comfortable) versus digging and probing beneath the surface (a
Scorpio habit). Simplicity and complexity vie with one another. Both extremes-ignoring unpleasantness and
obsessing over it-are unhealthy. The challenge is to find a middle ground between feeling good and facing the
tough issues that require confrontation and resolution. This Full Moon is particularly relevant for people born
around April 25-30, July 28-Aug. 2, Oct 28-Nov. 2, or Jan 25-30.
Mercury enters Gemini, Tuesday, April 30, 2002 at 00:17 AM PDT.
Words are wonderful. The accent is on being articulate and expressive. Talking things over solves just about
anything. Word play (puns, etc.) could appeal. Those inclined to be chatty might overdo it even more. Curiosity is
heightened, and everything in the immediate vicinity is grist for the mill. An eagerness to collect information is
probable. The trivia queen rules!
Jupiter quincunxes Neptune, Tuesday, April 30, 2002 at 6:45 PM
PDT.
Idealistic imagery or too much fantasy is a danger. The truth could vie with compassion. Getting lost in
NeverNeverLand is not a good idea. Keep your feet planted firmly on the ground. Dreams and visions can be
inspirational, but don't get too carried away. To avoid disappointment, make sure your expectations are reasonable
and reachable. This combination can be constructively directed toward inspirational activities, compassionate
philanthropy, or spiritual pursuits. |
