NEW MOON REPORT
November 4, 2002
by Maritha Pottenger
The "dark side of the Moon" is
appropriately in Scorpio this month-emphasizing hidden matters, the Underworld, research,
depth psychotherapy, and things that go bump in the night. Shivers and shadows are in
focus. The potential for self-mastery and tremendous focus is excellent.
New Moon at 12 Scorpio 15, November 4,
2002, at 12:36 PM PST.
This New Moon is at the midpoint of a square to both Jupiter and Neptune, so
idealistic issues are in high focus. The struggle between the Light and the Dark is
featured. Good guys versus bad guys might be experienced in mythic terms. Beware of both
extremes: rose-colored glasses and being deceived by others on one side and becoming too
cynical, jaded, convinced everyone is "out to get something" on the other side.
This period is propitious for projects that lead to the elimination of bad habits (e.g.,
establishing a regular exercise routine, stopping smoking or drinking, etc.). An
attraction to "what lies beneath" in life is likely.
Mercury enters Sagittarius, November 19,
2002, at 3:30 AM PST.
Silver-tongued orators abound. The planet of communication enters the realm of the
raconteur, comic, speculator, wheeler-dealer, and sage. Wisdom can reach a higher level,
but faith and confidence can also be carried too far. Make sure big dreams are backed by
practical plans. Laughter is a great uplifter.
Full Moon at 27 Taurus 33, Nov 19, 2002
at 5:35 PM PST.
The polarity emphasizes issues of self-mastery-an opportunity to avoid feast versus famine
swings and find pleasure from the material world, resources, and financial matters.
Mercury is just leaving the conjunction to the Sun, so some objectivity and communication
skills will add to the ability to make wise choices.
Venus turns direct, Wednesday, November
20, 2002, at 11:14 PM PST.
A new cycle is possible in regard to love, money, pleasures, and relationships. The
accent is on comfort in the material plane-on a sensual level as well as in terms of
monetary matters and partnership. In Scorpio, shrewdness and a capacity to read nonverbal
cues and tune into people's hidden agendas could serve you well.
The Sun enters Sagittarius, Friday,
November 22, 2002, at 3:55 AM PST.
A lively, friendly, gregarious note enters the cosmic mix. People are ready to
entertain and be entertained. A willingness to risk a bit (for greater gain) is probable.
Faith and energy are on the upswing. Amusements have high appeal. An outgoing attitude
easily mixes socially.
Mars enters Scorpio, Sunday, December 1,
2002, at 6:27 AM PST.
Stamina and endurance are on the rise. People are also apt to hold grudges longer.
Forgiveness could be more of a challenge. Being able to move on-particularly to release
emotionally-may be difficult for people. Strength of will is emphasized. On the down side,
that means stubbornness. On the upside, that means tenacity and perseverance.
Jupiter turns retrograde, December 4,
2002, at 4:23 AM PST.
A new cycle is possible in regard to expansion, philosophy, spiritual quests, education,
other countries, adventure, or exploration. This new phase is likely to last until Jupiter
turns direct in early April 2003. Check the house(s) in your horoscope where Sagittarius
is on the cusp. There may be changes in that arena.
