NEW MOON REPORT
April 1, 2003
by Maritha Pottenger
Don’t be fooled by April Fools
Day. An Aries New Moon is still an excellent opportunity for making a fresh, new
beginning, or for starting a project you expect to take about a year.
New Moon, 11 Aries 39, Tuesday, April 1, 2003 at 11:20 AM PST.
This New Moon includes a sextile to Neptune and a (wide) trine to Jupiter,
so visualizing skills are highlighted. The ability to imagine can be exercised
on a large scale. Inspiration is possible. Undertakings that involve travel,
higher education, spiritual quests, art, beauty, compassion, or healing are
favored. This New Moon is particularly significant for people born around March
30-April 4, July 2-7, October 3-8, or January 1-5.
Jupiter turns Direct, Thursday, April 3, 2003 at 7:05 PM PST.
A new chapter or phase is possible in regard to matters ruled by Jupiter:
education, foreign countries, religion, philosophy, enlightenment, travel, or
anything that expands one’s physical, mental, or spiritual horizons. This
cycle lasts until the next Jupiter retrograde: January 3, 2004. Check also the
house cusp on which Sagittarius appears in your horoscope. Matters pertaining to
that house may change.
Mercury enters Taurus, Saturday, April 5, 2003 at 6:38 AM PST.
Thinking is slow and steady. This is an excellent placement for financial
planning, for steadfast attention to information, for gathering facts patiently
and methodically. Although verbal fireworks are less likely, material rewards
(such as money) could flow from intellectual endeavors.
North Node enters Taurus, Sunday, April 13, 2003 at 4:46 PM PDT.
Security needs become more significant. A concern over resources surfaces.
Questions of who earns the income, and who spends it, may arise. Issues of
equity around ownership and possessions are apt to come up in relationships. The
drive for safety is more pronounced.
Full Moon, 26 Libra 24, Wednesday, April 16, 2003 at 12:37 PM PDT.
The I-Thou relationship is highlighted. Assertion vies with accommodation.
Loner tendencies compete with the urge for togetherness. Achieving a reasonable
exchange (give-and-take) with others is the challenge. This task is particularly
relevant for people born around October 18-22, January 15-19, April 15-19, or
July 17-22.
Sun enters Taurus, Sunday, April 20, 2003 at 5:04 AM PDT.
Sensual satisfaction is high on the priority list. People are ready to eat,
drink, and be merry. The pursuit of comfort, ease, and physical gratification is
highlighted. For some, this means making money. For others, this means spending
money! The accent is on finding pleasure through the material world and the
body.
Venus enters Aries, Monday, April 21, 2003 at 9:19 AM PDT.
The planet of love and affection is eager for adventure! The Don Juan or
Femme Fatale role may appeal. People are more willing to go after what they want
in love and romance. Being the hunter feels more powerful and exciting. Lust
could burn brightly, but turn to ashes rather quickly. This is a good time to
clarify your desires.
Mars enters Aquarius, Monday, April 21, 2003 at 4:49 PM PDT.
The planet of action and “my way” enters the sign of revolution with a
square to the Sun. Be cautious about clashes with authority figures or people in
leadership positions. This feisty combination is best channeled into competitive
sports, games, or fighting for progress. Impulsive reactions are possible in the
Aquarian realm: new technology, change, friends, humanitarian causes, the
unusual. Originality may heat up. Just make sure your common sense is readily
available as well.
Mercury turns Retrograde, Saturday, April 26, 2003 at 5:00 AM PDT.
Review and revisions are favored. Caution is indicated around communication
and commerce. Check the fine print. Confirm appointments, directions, and vital
pieces of data. Beware of communication breakdowns. Be open to extra
explanations and be patient. Research and making plans are favored.
