NEW MOON REPORT
May 1, 2003

by Maritha Pottenger

Clusters of activity are featured this month. The New Moon makes a T-square on May Day. Mid-May includes a Full Moon, Lunar Eclipse, Neptune turning retrograde, and Venus entering Taurus within the space of two days (May 15-16). May 20 and 21 include Saturn sesquiquadrate Neptune, Mercury turning direct, and the Sun entering Gemini.

New Moon, 10 Taurus 43, Thursday, May 1, 2003 at 5:16 AM PDT.
Taurus New Moons are excellent times to initiate action to increase the comfort, sensual pleasures, money, or resources in your life. Solidifying and securing assets is appropriate. Big dreams may be in the picture, as Neptune (at 13 Aquarius) and Jupiter (at 9 Leo) are forming a T-square with this New Moon. Beware of grandiosity and overreach. Those motifs are best expressed through combining spiritual, idealistic goals (Neptune and Jupiter) with practical comfort or accumulation (Taurus). This New Moon could be extra significant for people born around April 29-May 3, August 1-5, November 1-5, or January 29-February 2.

Neptune turns Retrograde, Thursday, May 15, 2003 at 5:48 PM PDT.
A new chapter may begin in regard to art, beauty, inspiration, imagination, fantasy, spirituality, or delusion. Look also to the house in your horoscope where Pisces appears on the cusp as a new phase may begin in that area. This period will last until Neptune turns direct October 22, 2003.

Full Moon & Lunar Eclipse at 24 Scorpio 53, Thursday, May 15, 2003 at 8:37 PM PDT.
The balancing act between yours, mine and ours is in high focus. Issues could arise around joint resources (money, pleasures, possessions, and power). Your challenge is to give, receive and share equally with others. This Full Moon and eclipse is apt to be particularly significant for people born around May 13-18, August 16-20, November 15-19, and February 12-16.

Venus enters Taurus, Friday, May 16, 2003 at 3:59 AM PDT.
The planet of love and pleasure enters the sign of indulgence and feel-good activities. Now is the time to eat, drink, be merry, make love, collect possessions, create beauty, spend money and generally seek gratification and comfort from the material world. (Of course, overdoing carries the usual consequences.)

Saturn sesquisquare Neptune, Tuesday, May 20, 2003 at 12:07 AM PDT.
Fantasy and reality square off in the ring. Rose-colored glasses are in contention with “just the facts, ma’am.” A hard-nosed, pragmatic style is vying with imagination, dreams and visions. The downside is dashed dreams, disillusionment, disenchantment, and disappointment. The best way to integrate these two motifs is to bring beauty into material form or do something tangible to make the world a bit better, aid the less fortunate, or manifest spiritual principles on the earth plane.

Mercury turns Direct, Tuesday, May 20, 2003 at 12:34 AM PDT.
Time to move forward once again in the areas of commerce, communication, transportation, and paperwork. Open expression of ideas is apt to be a bit easier. The flow of information is smoother. Take advantage of opportunities to explain yourself, make important business contacts, share vital statistics, and gain valuable knowledge.

Sun enters Gemini, Wednesday, May 21, 2003 at 4:13 AM PDT.
Time to shine with the mind! As the planet of ego and self-esteem moves into the sign of curiosity and eagerness to learn, opportunities will arise to get positive feedback through mental skills. Showcase your talent for speech, writing, gathering information, conveying knowledge, or dealing with the Information Superhighway. Perhaps you have a great fount of trivia to share. Look for chances to receive notice and recognition for your intellectual abilities.
