NEW MOON REPORT
May 30, 2003
by Maritha Pottenger
This month, people will be trying
to move seamlessly between the restless, variety-oriented motifs of Gemini and
the serious, security-seeking drives of Cancer. A healthy balance leaves room
for both in our lives.
New Moon & Solar Eclipse, 9 Gemini 20, Friday, May 30 at 9:21 PM PDT.
Turn on the light. Illumination could strike! Information, understanding,
data, and communication are in high focus. This New Moon offers an opportunity
to initiate action that will bring more knowledge into your hands. Classes,
speaking, writing, disseminating information or other intellectual activities
are quite appropriate. A youthful enthusiasm for new ideas and fresh
possibilities is dominant. This New Moon is particularly significant for people
born around May 28-June 2, August 31-September 4, November 30-December 4, or
February 27-March 3.
Jupiter opposes Neptune, Monday, June 2 at 7:56 PM PDT.
The two planets of idealism and high expectations are challenging one
another. Tension could arise between intellectual and emotional goals or between
telling the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth versus being
compassionate, tactful, and using “little white lies.” Moral and ethical
principles may be in high focus. Be true to your values.
Saturn enters Cancer, Tuesday, June 3 at 6:29 PM PDT.
With the planet of duty, responsibility, and hard work entering the sign of
domesticity, patriotism, and family, we may feel more pressure to do something
practical and helpful for our nation, our loved ones, or to repair the family
domicile. (Or, we could start working from the home as well as on it.) The
accent is on security and safety. Saturn will remain in Cancer until July 2005.
Uranus turns retrograde, Saturday, June 7 at 00:00 AM PDT.
A new cycle begins in matters of invention, new technology, individuality,
and knowing when to constructively break the rules. This phase will last until
November 8, 2003. Check the house of your horoscope that has Aquarius on the
cusp as you may initiate a new chapter in regard to matters of that house.
Venus enters Gemini, Monday, June 9 at 8:33 PM PDT.
The planet of love and pleasures enters the sign of the mind and
communication. We may delight more in word play, flirtation, the light touch.
Poetry, music, and aesthetic use of language could appeal. A love of variety is
likely. People are attracted to new ideas, new experiences, and multiple
interests.
Mercury enters Gemini, Thursday, June 12 at 6:35 PM PDT.
Verbal facility is heightened. People may be more glib, more able to come up
with the right words at the right time. (Some people will just be too
talkative.) Communication, commerce, and transportation are highlighted.
Multi-tasking is a bit easier. A wide range of interests will be clamoring for
attention. Distractibility is increased, so keeping focused will be more of a
challenge. Humor and entertaining skills are emphasized.
Full Moon, 23 Sagittarius 0, Saturday, June 14 at 4:17 AM PDT.
Mental restlessness is accentuated, as is the desire for variety and new
experiences in relationships. Boredom could encourage flirtation or trying many
new and different activities. The urge to expand one’s horizons is strong and
could lead to travel, taking classes, long discussions, or other pursuits that
accent the mind, enlightenment, or an expanded view of the world. This
peripatetic motif is particularly strong for people born around June 12-17,
September 15-19, December 14-18, or March 13-17.
Mars enters Pisces, Monday, June 16 at 7:27 PM PDT.
Sensitivity and vulnerability are on the rise. Feelings are more easily hurt
and some people will be tempted to retreat from the world or hide. This
combination can be very constructively directed into grace in motion (dancing,
skating, skiing, Tai Chi, etc.) or healing activities.
Sun enters Cancer, Saturday, June 21 at 12:12 PM PDT.
Home and family move to the forefront. Loved ones take
priority—particularly establishing a sense of security and safety. Feelings
will center around the nest and issues of protection. This is an excellent time
to strengthen the ties that bind and show appreciation for our nearest and
dearest.
Saturn trines Uranus, Tuesday, June 24 at 4:35 PM PDT.
An opportunity knocks to combine the best of the old and the new—tradition
and progress, the status quo and innovation. Be alert for chances to move into
the future while retaining what is good from the past. Responsibility is linked
to an inventive spirit and the results can be impressive.
Mercury enters Cancer, Sunday, June 29 at 3:18 AM PDT.
Thinking and communication tend to center around protection, nurturing, or
family. This is a time for consolidating, for double-checking safeguards and
protective measures. The retentive emphasis is excellent for business matters
that involve hanging on to what you’ve got. More family discussions or
thoughts about loved ones are quite possible.
