NEW MOON REPORT
June 29, 2003
by Maritha Pottenger
The emotion of watery Cancer and
fiery Leo placements is heightened with two aspects to Jupiter. Expect
larger-than-life gestures, exaggeration, growth, or excesses. Extremes are more
likely than moderation.
New Moon, 7 Cancer 37, Sunday, June 29, 2003 at 11:40 AM PDT.
We have conflicting motifs for this New Moon with Saturn widely conjunct the Sun
and Moon, while Mars and Uranus (conjunct each other) are widely trine. So, the
conventional may battle the unconventional. Security is apt to vie with
risk-taking. Since the sign is still Cancer, the quest for safety remains
paramount, but try to bring in a note of innovation or something a bit
different. A New Moon is an appropriate time for initiation—particularly in
regard to family matters, household routines, land, real estate, patriotic
decisions, or anything involving preservation or protection. This New Moon is
particularly significant for people born around June 27-July 2; March 26-31;
September 29-October 3; or December 28-January 1.
Jupiter trine Pluto, Tuesday, July 1, 2003 at 5:48 AM PDT.
Opportunity knocks. This could involve growth in income from royalties,
consulting, or a partner’s efforts. Increased enlightenment and self-mastery
are possible. If you’ve been wanting to get a loan, now is the time. Think big
in regard to Plutonic matters (intimacy, shared resources, research, depth
investigations, life-and-death matters, emotional intensity, loyalty,
perseverance).
Venus enters Cancer, Friday, July 4, 2003 at 10:40 AM PDT.
Love and pleasure are tied to food and family. It would be easy to
overindulge at the table (just in time for that Fourth of July picnic!). The
desire to pamper and indulge loved ones will be strong and they may be equally
sweet and amiable on your behalf. Familiar and familial pleasures have high
appeal.
Jupiter semi-square (octile) Saturn, Tuesday, July 8, 2003 at 7:43 PM PDT.
Tension exists between growth and contraction. This could be an inner
conflict (between optimism and pessimism or reaching out and pulling back). Or,
in the outer world, it is an appropriate time to be sure that you are
well-balanced in terms of expansion and consolidation in business and other
aspects of your life.
Mercury enters Leo, Sunday, July 13, 2003 at 5:11 AM PDT.
Communication shines! People can be stars through what they say or how they
say it. The salesperson, promoter, persuader, and silver-tongued orator could
have a chance. Dramatic emphasis, pregnant pauses, and fish stories (that GROW)
are apt to abound. Look for opportunities to get admiration and applause through
your mind or verbal skills.
Full Moon at 20 Capricorn 59, Sunday, July 13, 2003 at 12:22 PM PDT.
Safety matters are emphasized, particularly in relationships. Balancing time
and energy between home and work is also a focus. Conditional and unconditional
love may be vying with one another. The challenge is to create a warm, loving
nest in equilibrium with satisfying contributions to the external world. This
Full Moon aspects your Sun if you were born around January 10-14, April 10-14,
July 12-16, or October 13-17.
Sun enters Leo, Tuesday, July 22, 2003 at 11:05 PM PDT.
Look for the limelight! People need to shine. Seek out opportunities to
enhance your self-esteem—particularly through activities that allow you to
take center stage. This can include dramatic presentations, teaching,
recreation, creative outlets or anything that allows you to do more than you
have done before—and get positive feedback from others.
Venus enters Leo, Monday, July 28, 2003 at 9:26 PM PDT.
Love is bigger and grander. Romantic gestures become more lavish. A spirit
of generosity prevails. People want to showcase their caring and could
demonstrate their fervor with considerable flair and elan. Flash and dash are
the order of business in relationships. Money can be made through publicity,
teaching, promotion, entertainment, recreation, or anything that involves a
creative outlet.
Mars turns retrograde, Tuesday, July 29, 2003 at 0:38 AM PDT.
A more inward focus is possible, particularly since Mars is in watery
Pisces. Don’t inhibit yourself too much. Plan carefully in matters involving
assertion, initiation, courage, males, metal tools and weapons, or personal
health and vitality. This could indicate a new phase (for the house where Aries
is on the cusp) which would last until September 27 (when Mars turns direct).
