Capricorn New Moons are auspicious for practical matters. Anything pertaining to business, construction, or “real world” results could benefit from being started under a Capricorn New Moon.

New Moon, 20 Capricorn 21, Monday, January 10, 2005 at 4:04 AM PST.
Realism and responsibility are highlighted. This is a favorable time to initiate action that will generate tangible, lasting results. Clarifying responsibilities (what is yours and what is not) is appropriate. Parental motifs may be significant. Focus on projects that enhance your status, bring you more power, or hone your skills and enlarge your expertise. Now is the time to own your own authority. This New Moon is likely to be significant for people born around January 9-13, July 11-15, October 12-16, or April 9-13.

Sun enters Aquarius, Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at 3:23 PM PST.
A note of extra creativity and innovation is in the mix. People may be more adept at bringing in fresh viewpoints or alternative courses of action. It may be easier to know when to break the rules for positive results. The “outsider” perspective proves helpful. Objectivity, tolerance, and an appreciation of diversity could increase. The attraction is toward variety and activities that are new, different, or a bit off the beaten track.

Saturn quincunxes Pluto, Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at 5:38 PM PST.
With the two obsessive-compulsive planets aspecting each other, this is a time to keep our addictions under control. It would be easy to get caught up with something and go over it, and over it, and over it. This combination can be well directed into self-mastery and self-control (e.g., quitting smoking, dieting) or into eliminating what is no longer necessary or is toxic in one’s life—throwing out things, ending negative relationships, leaving destructive work circumstances, etc. A drive for power is highlighted, so we should use our own clout wisely and well, and sidestep power struggles and confrontations with others.

Full Moon 5 Leo 34, Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at 2:33 AM PST.
People will be balancing several polarities: being special (the “star” of the show) versus being a friend and equal, detachment versus emotional passion, and independence versus close, loving connections. A happy medium involves some of each, but deciding how much and when is not always easy. This Full Moon is apt to be relevant for people born around July 26-31, January 24-28, April 24-28, or October 27-31.

Mercury enters Aquarius, Saturday, January 29, 2005 at 9:38 PM PST.
When the planet of thinking and communication enters the sign of innovation and invention, interesting developments are possible! Brainstorming could increase. People can “think outside the box” more easily. Interest could increase in future trends, technology, humanitarian causes, or anything a bit different or unusual. Objectivity and seeing multiple perspectives come more easily.

Jupiter turns retrograde, Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at 6:27 PM PST.
It is time to review and reevaluate our ethics, morality, and long-term goals. With a retrograde cycle, we can go within and clarify our perspectives. We may wish to make some changes in terms of our future plans. A new chapter is possible in matters of the house where Sagittarius is on the cusp. This cycle will last until June 5—when Jupiter goes direct.

Venus enters Aquarius, Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at 7:43 AM PST.
A bit of experimentation or restlessness enters the mix in terms of romance. We may look for someone or something a bit different. We may become more aware of our needs for freedom and independence. We may venture far afield in our pursuit of beauty or pleasure. Gratification is tied to newness or an unconventional or unusual approach.

Mars enters Capricorn, Sunday, February 6, 2005 at 10:33 AM PST.
Stamina is on the rise. Productivity and “keeping on keeping on” are likely. Patience and follow-through are accentuated. This is a businesslike, pragmatic combination that is focused on facing facts and getting the job done. Reliability is high on the priority list.
